Homemade meatballs are easy meal to prepare in advance and a great opportunity to involve the family. Made with beef, eggs, bread crumbs and other simple ingredients, you can easily adapt to your own taste.
Today, I want to share with you a cooking session with my son! Together, we made homemade meatballs. He really enjoy it, adding all the ingredients together.
My little man was so proud to help me and wear his little apron. Sleeves rolled, he was not scared to get his hands in the meat.
He was really taking seriously the tasks given and showing me with pride and asking me if it was très bien (very good) like this. Each meatballs was dedicated to a person and his little sisters got baby meat balls as he said.
Food Revolution Day

It is worldwide. "100 countries and 105,000 participants have already signed up for Food Revolution Day!" There are different ways to be part of it. It does not have to be big, it can be something you are doing at home, at school or at work and share it with #FRD2014.
My Food Revolution Series started with our little garden to get our kids more conscious as to where the vegetables come from and how it grow. They are so impatient to see starting to grow, they have been watering it everyday and our son is asking when the cucumbers will be ready to eat. Not as yet!
Most of all, my little chef loved cooking with his Maman. I involved him in the making, showing him how important he was.
Needless to say it was really good, perfectly moist in the inside and a little crunchy in the outside. We ate them with pastas and steamed green beans.
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 slices bread, crumbled or ¾ cup of breadcrumbs
- 2 or 3 tablespoon parsley, minced to taste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- In a big bowl, put all the ingredients together and mix well with your hands.
- Start forming balls (size of a golf ball) until there is no meat left.
- In a pan, cook (medium heat) until the meat balls are fully cooked. The outside will appear crunchy. (I do not add any oil or butter)
- Another cooking suggestion: Cook in a tomato sauce, low heat, for 40-45 minutes.
- Serve with pasta or vegetables.
